    To maximise the amount of electric pitches available on our rural electricity supply, we have chosen to provide 10 Amp supplies to pitches. This means, based on the 230 Volt supply, you have a 2300 Watt capacity(10 Amps x 230 Volts = 2300 Watts).
    All appliances specify the wattage on a label near the power cord, so for example a fast boil kettle with a rating of 3000 Watt or a 3kW heater will trip the 10 Amp switch
    (3000 Watts divided by 230 Volts = 13 Amps).
    Multiple appliances used at the same time will also cause the switch to trip if the combined power exceeds 2300 Watts.

Terms and Conditions of stay

Your stay at Forest Camping is subject to the following terms and conditions:

NO FIRES ALLOWED:
There is always a fire risk in the forest and there are by-laws restricting the lighting of fires.
To protect the forest and for public safety, please observe the following:
  • Contained charcoal or gas barbeque units permitted for cooking only.
    NO wood, cones or other material to be burnt inside or outside units.
  • Disposable contained barbecues must be on bricks, to avoid burning the grass
  • Barbeques are to be kept away from trees and bushes and be kept off picnic tables
  • Please leave ashes in your barbecue until COLD then place them in a bag before disposal
  • Barbecues must be extinguished by 10pm
  • Barbecues after 10pm may be extinguished without warning
  • Any fires will be extinguished immediately without warning
  • No “Chinese lanterns”, “Compressed Logs” or “Heat Logs” permitted

Noise & Light Pollution:
Please respect your fellow campers and those who live in the area by keeping noise to a minimum at all times (but especially after 10pm).
  • Please do not use your radios/audio equipment at any time
  • We also ask that you do not use flashing fairy lights for the same reasons.
  • Forest Camping is a NO DRONE ZONE
  • We wish to remain in keeping with our forest surroundings.


Gazebos & Cooking Tents:
We are happy to accommodate small gazebos with permission (please mention when booking).
We do not allow gazebos with sides or marquees.
Do not use electricity inside gazebos for safety reasons.

Visitors:
We will continue to accept visitors if these conditions are followed:
  • Campers wishing to have day visitors must prearrange and pay £4 for your guest's car
  • One visitor's car per pitch per day
  • Visitors must depart from the site by 9pm

Waste & Recycling:
  • Only food waste, food packaging and COLD barbecue ashes (in bags) permitted in bins
  • ALL other waste is to be taken home especially camping items and packaging from camping items
  • We also have facilities to recycle glass

Dogs:
  • We welcome well-behaved dogs
  • Dogs must be kept on leads
  • Please clean up after your dog

Bookings:
  • We accept bookings via telephone on 01394 450707
  • Please have a payment method ready as full payment is required when booking
  • All payments made are non-refundable and booked dates are non-transferable
  • January & February:
    The Campsite and Booking office is closed
  • March Telephone booking hours:
    Monday to Friday: 9am - 5pm
    Closed Saturday & Sunday
  • April - September Telephone booking hours:
    Monday to Saturday: 9am - 5pm
    Sunday: 9.30am - 4pm
  • October Telephone booking hours:
    Monday to Sunday: 10am - 2pm
    Telephone Booking is closed from Sunday 29th October
  • November & December:
    The Campsite and Booking office is closed
  • Easter Weekend - starts from Thursday for 4 nights minimum stay
  • May Day Bank Holiday Weekend - starts from Friday for 3 nights minimum stay
  • Witsun (Late May) Bank Holiday Weekend - 5 nights minimum stay
  • August Bank Holiday Weekend - 5 nights minimum stay
  • Minimum stay at weekends - 2 nights Friday & Saturday (Except October)

Group Bookings:
  • We accept group bookings at our discretion, please call to discuss your requirements
  • We are unable to take large group bookings during Bank Holidays or school holidays

Arrival & Departure Times:
  • Please arrive after 12 midday on the date of your arrival
  • Please depart before 12 midday on the date of your departure
